Danoplus PAR-499 – PAR / DLI Light Meter - designed to measure photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) photon flux and daily light integral (DLI).

The Danoplus PAR-499 is an advanced light meter designed to measure photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) photon flux and daily light integral (DLI). The device captures data with high precision and enables long-term monitoring of light conditions in plant cultivation environments.

Key Features:

  • Measures PPFD (μmol/m²/s) and DLI (mol/m²/d)

  • Data logging for up to 5 years, exportable as CSV via USB-C

  • On-device access to 30 days of recorded data

  • Built-in real-time clock and calendar

  • Water-resistant (IP65 rating)

  • ¼-inch tripod mounting capability

Technical Specifications:

  • PPFD Measurement Range: 0–5000 μmol/m²/s

  • Accuracy: ±1 μmol/m²/s

  • Display Resolution:

    • 0.01 μmol/m²/s (0–99.99)

    • 0.1 μmol/m²/s (100–999)

    • 1 μmol/m²/s (1000–5000)

  • Measurement Frequency: 1 measurement per second

  • Operating Temperature: 0°C to 50°C

  • Operating Humidity: 0–95% RH (non-condensing)

  • Wavelength Range: 400–700 nm (±10 nm)

  • Power Supply: 2× AAA batteries

  • Dimensions: Ø 70 mm x 30 mm

  • Weight: 85 g (with batteries)

Package Contents:

  • Danoplus PAR-499 Meter

  • USB-C Cable

  • 2× AAA Batteries

  • Soil Probe

  • Mini Screwdriver

  • Spare Screw

  • User Manual

Additional Information:

  • The device automatically calculates DLI every 3 minutes based on 10 readings, which are then aggregated into a daily value.

  • Photoperiod is measured in hours when light intensity exceeds 0.1 μmol/m²/s.

  • Data export to a computer is possible via CSV format.

  • The screen enters sleep mode after 1 minute of inactivity (measurement continues in the background).

  • Factory reset option is available directly from the device.

What is PAR, PPFD, and DLI?

PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) refers to the range of light wavelengths (400–700 nm) that plants use for photosynthesis. PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) measures the number of photons reaching one square meter per second (μmol/m²/s) – it is a key parameter for assessing the intensity of light available to plants. DLI (Daily Light Integral) represents the total amount of light a plant receives in a day, expressed in moles per square meter per day (mol/m²/d). Both indicators are crucial for optimal plant growth and yield.
